Robert Barney, bass, began playing in the Fort Worth Symphony at age 13. He later graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy, receiving the "Young Artist Award".

He joined the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra at age 21 as Assistant Principal Bass, and has now been the Principal Bass for 23 years. This is his 4th season with Pro Musica Rara.
