Daniela Pierson , violin

Daniela Giulia Pierson, baroque violin, performs throughout the Northeast in recital and with early music ensembles. She’s a regular member of Tempesta di Mare and in the last several years has played with New Trinity Baroque, Early Music New York, Harmonious Blacksmith, Clarion Music Society, New York Collegium, Gotham Chamber Opera, Concert Royal and at the Magnolia Baroque and Newburyport Festivals. Ms. Pierson has a particular love of the folk music of southern Italy and played and recorded for years with La Paranza (Rome) and with I Giullari di Piazza (New York City).

Classically trained on viola, Ms. Pierson attended Mannes College of Music on full merit scholarship and the University of Pennsylvania (where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Urban Studies). Since focusing on early music performance, she’s had the pleasure to study with Marilyn McDonald, Cynthia Roberts, and Riccardo Minasi.

She plays on a Jacob Ford violin from 1765.
