Julie Parcells , violin

Julie Parcells, violin, is a fourth generation musician. She graduated high school from the North Carolina School for the Arts and earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Performance at the University of Toronto. Her primary teachers were Vartan Manoogian and Lorand Fenyves.

She has participated in master classes with such renowned performers and teachers as Sidney Harth, Franco Gulli and Joseph Gingold. Her additional studies were at Meadowmount School of Music, Brevard Music Center, four summers at the Siena Summer Session for orchestra and chamber music, as well as the Spoleto Festival in Italy.

Ms. Parcells joined the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in 1980. An active chamber musician, she was soloist with the BSO along with BSO violinist Gregory Mulligan in J.S. Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in 2000. She also performs with the Columbia String Quartet.
