The Musical Life of Thomas Jefferson

This concert will feature music from Thomas Jefferson’s library. He avidly played the violin accompanied by his wife and two daughters on the piano and harpsichord. He is quoted as saying: “music is the favorite passion of my soul.”

French Influence in the English Court

Teresa Wakim, soprano

Aaron Sheehan, tenor

From Paris to London in 90 minutes. This concert will feature solo arias and chamber music for strings from the Court of Louis XIV and follow this French influence to Purcell who was writing for King Charles II in London. The second half of the concert will include Purcell duets for soprano and tenor.
